Community Impact Student Award:
As a member of the North Carolina Campus Compact, UNCP presents one award annually in the Fall semester to a student who has made significant, innovative contributions to campus-based efforts to address community needs. The Community Impact Student Award winner can be a sophomore, junior or senior. All nominees must be full-time students enrolled at UNCP. Graduate students are not eligible for this award.

Outstanding Leadership & Service Award: (Spring semester)
One award is presented annually in the Spring semester in memory of 2002 December graduate and LSOP member who died on February 18, 2003. He explored and obtained resources available to students and his community. He stressed the importance of self-strength and worth. He valued others and helped them in accomplishing their goals. His warmth, compassion and smiles were a light off his fellow classmates, friends and associates. All students in LSOP that emulate these leadership and service characteristics are eligible to be nominated for this award.
Nominations are due by April 1st of each year. Nomination forms may be obtained at the Center for Leadership and Service office located in the Multicultural Center, Old Main.

Student Recognition Program
As a Member of LSOP, you will receive awards and recognition each year of successfully completing the workshops and service hours.
Horizon Leadership Program: The HORIZON program is for Freshman who wish to become better leaders through developmental experiences. Participants will engage in campus programs and gain exposure to service learning. Students who successfully complete the program and maintain enrollment in LSOP will receive special recognition at the Annual Leadership Banquet for this accomplishment.
Requirement:
-Attend 8 workshops sponsored by LSOP (one must be a Distinguished Speaker)
-Complete 30 hours of campus/community service
-Attend 2 cultural events (GPAC Events, Pow-wow, DSS, Taste of Culture, etc)
-Join a campus service organization (i.e. Student Government Association, Campus Activities Board, APPLE Corps, fraternities, sororities, etc)

Distinguished Leaders: The Distinguished Leader Program is for all Sophomore, Junior, Seniors and Graduate students. Students will be recognized at the Leadership Banquet after successfully completing the requirements.
Requirements:
-Attend 8 workshops sponsored by LSOP (at least one Distinguished Speaker)
-Complete 50 hours of campus/community service
-Be a member of a campus service organization

Leadership Fellows: The Leadership Fellow Program recognizes the leadership and service of graduating students. Leadership Fellows students receive a Leadership Transcript upon request, and an Honor Stole (see picture below) to be worn at graduation.
Requirements for Undergraduate Seniors:
-Attend 8 workshops sponsored by LSOP during the academic year of completion (one must be Distinguished Speaker)
-Complete 150 hours of campus/community service during the student's career at UNCP
-Be a member of a campus organization
-Completed at least one LSOP recognition program (Horizons or Distinguished Leader).
-Have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA at the end of semester PRIOR to graduation.
Requirements for Graduate Student:
-Attend 8 workshops sponsored by LSOP during the academic year of completion (one must be Distinguished Speaker)
-Complete 100 hours of campus/community service during the student's graduate career at UNCP
-Be a member of a campus organization
-Completed at least one LSOP recognition program (Horizons or Distinguished Leader).
-Have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA after 18 semester hours of graduate studies work.
