Making a difference!

In 2008, UNCP was named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.

This distinction recognized UNCP’s leadership to build a culture of service and civic responsibility through volunteerism and engaged citizenship.

UNCP STUDENTS MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Many students, just like you, have made huge strides in the fight against poverty, hunger, homelessness, racial injustices, domestic abuse, and much, much more. How? It's simple. They are active, dedicated citizens who refuse to sit back and watch injustices happen. They commit to a cause and work for social change.

Often, their inspiration begins with participating in a community service project as a young adult. As a result, taking an active role in the community and helping others becomes a part of who they are. Studies show that people who actively participate in community service activities weekly live happier, healthier, and more productive lives. People who serve others often become well respected community and business leaders.
