Ultrasound is a tool already used in many current medical procedures, yet its side effects are not fully understood. Studies reveal that ultrasound drastically affects the rates of enzyme catalysis and alters chemical microenvironments, both of which can affect the developing mind. Promoting research into ultrasound will increase its viability to be used as a novel therapeutic aid and prevent undesired harm from currently existing treatment methods.
