The Office for Community and Civic Engagement engages student volunteers and community organizations to meet the needs of the community through service.

UNCP Student Volunteer Program

There are over 125 community organizations in Robeson and surrounding counties that receive student volunteers. Students can volunteer in an area of interest to serve a community need. <more>

Justice Through Service
JTS serves to raise awareness about issues that our society faces on a local and global scale. Students learn more about problems we face as a society and ways to create change through leadership and service. <more> NC-

NC-ACTS! Program
NC-ACTS! is a AmeriCorps sponsored program in which participants serve community organizations and receive a $1000 Education Award after completing 300 service hours. <more>

Giving & Learning Program (student volunteer opportunities)

  • Literacy Education (FWS-CS) Eligible students may use their federal work-study award to tutor children in reading and math.
  • In-class tutor
    • After school tutor
    • Education/recreation mentor
  • Reading for Success
  • Reading Parties @ PSRC
  • First Book
Certificates & Awards
Students are recognized for service and civic engagement devoted to the UNCP campus and community. <more>
