Q1: When can I schedule?

A: Students can register for Fall 2008 using BraveWeb (based on classification) until August 26, 2008 at 5 pm. After August 26th students will need departmental and advisor approval to add a course. BraveWeb will re-open on October 24, 2008 in order for students to begin early registration for Spring 2009.

Q2: How should I decide what to schedule?

A: Freshman students should schedule general education courses and refer to the general education handbook for suggested first year courses for their majors Try to keep a balanced courseload and make sure that you are taking prerequisite courses for your major. A prerequisite course is a lower level course that you have to complete before you can schedule the next higher level course. The UNCP catalog will tell you if a course that you want to take has a prerequisite. You may find it helpful to complete a 2-Year or 4-Year Academic Plan, planning out semester by semester what courses you are required to take for your major. Your catalog is your guideline for what courses are required for your major. Once you complete a 2-Year or 4-Year Academic Plan, review it with your advisor.

Q3: What are General Education Requirements?

A: UNCP students are required to complete a 45-hour General Education program as a part of their baccalaureate degree. These courses expose students to a variety of disciplines and foster the development of a variety of skills relevant to the workforce. For some majors, certain courses may count toward both General Education and Major requirements.

Q4: How do I add a class?

A: UNCP students use BraveWeb to add classes. You can access BraveWeb via the quick links menu on the UNCP homepage. You must have met with your academic advisor and received an alternate pin in order to schedule classes.

Q5: When is the last day to add a class?

A: The last day to add a class for Fall 2008 is August 26, 2008. Registration officially ends at 5 pm on that day.
