how to apply to become a mentor

If you are interested in becoming a Mentor, you will apply through Brave Opportunities. Once you have completed the application, if you are a good candidate, you will be contacted for an interview and a support statement from a faculty member on campus.

You must meet the following requirements:

  • 3.4 GPA or better
  • Upperclassman (Junior or Senior status when you will start work)
  • Ability to relate well with others
  • Involved in other activities on campus

We hire most Academic Mentors in the spring semester to work the following academic year. You do not have to wait until the spring to apply. Complete your application now.

If you have further questions, you can contact the Coordinator for First Year Programs, Beth Froeba via e-mail at elizabeth.froeba@uncp.edu.
