The Center for Adult Learners was created to respond to the unique and specific needs of nontraditional students who are attending, or considering attending, the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. We provide a central location where you can easily access information and a wide variety of campus resources.
Nontraditional students have little time to search for services they need. Consider The Center for Adult Learners your one-stop shop for campus resource information and leave the work to us!
Currently enrolled and prospective students are encouraged to take advantage of our services. You may receive information by phone, mail, email, or by visiting our office in person.
National statistics indicate that almost 50% of all college students are considered "nontraditional." They include students who are 24 or older, have been away from school for an extended period of time, or may have family responsibilities as well as work obligations.
At UNCP, the nontraditional population is about 40% of the student population.
As you deal with balancing school, work, and family responsibilities, you may experience obstacles which may appear insurmountable. Overcoming these obstacles and becoming a successful student could require you to seek assistance and planning.
