UPeers program

UPeers are upper-class students who are successful academically, involved in campus life, and have a desire to help new freshmen manage their transition to UNCP. UPeers attend all sessions of their assigned Freshman Seminar class and mentor first year students throughout the academic year. They serve as the bridge between the instructor and student, assist in planning of the syllabus and teaching course content, assist in moderating and facilitating class discussion, communicate with students outside of class in a variety of ways, provide feedback to the instructor, serve as a freshman advocate, are guides to campus resources, and serve as a role model for academic, co-curricular and leadership behaviors.
