RESEARCH INTERESTS

Dr. Crandall’s research interests lie primarily in the area of organizational crisis management.  His forthcoming book, Crisis Management in the New Strategy Landscape, with co-authors, John Parnell and Jack Spillan, will be appearing this summer through SAGE publications.  Dr. Crandall also has an interest in looking at organizational effectiveness, particularly in terms of critical success factors.  His book, New Methods of Competing in the Marketplace: Critical Success Factors from Service and Manufacturing, co-authored with his father, Richard Crandall, looks at how organizational effectiveness is enhanced when service and manufacturing sector companies take the time to learn best practices from each other.  This book (2008) is published by CRC Press, a Taylor and Francis Group company.  Currently, Dr. Crandall, and his father, along with colleague Charlie Chen, both at Appalachian State University, are finishing a textbook on Supply Chain Management.  This book will also be published with CRC Press.
