T-Shirt Contest

 

Students and Alumni, this is your chance to design "The Shirt" that everyone will be wearing for sporting event “Black Outs”!!

We're very excited to announce our second Student T-Shirt Design Competition!   

The winner will be selected by a campus-wide vote and will receive a $200.00 shopping spree plus 5 of the t-shirts!

 

Purpose of the Contest:
Our primary goal is to build community spirit with an exciting and interactive event so that the entire UNCP community can participate. This program utilizes the creativity of UNC Pembroke students during the design competition. The contest will become a powerful tool to benefit the ideals and goals of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.

Prize Awarded:
The winning contributor will receive a $200.00 UNCP Bookstore UNCP Bookstore Gift Card and 5 of the winning T-shirts.

Design Theme:
The theme of this year's contest is "School Spirit. "The winning design will be judged on: design illustration and slogan.

Judging and Voting:
When all of the designs have been submitted, a panel of judges will select several of the top designs. These designs will become semi-finalists and will go on to campus-wide voting. The campus community will select the winning design.

Semi-finalists will be selected based on the following criteria:
• How well the design/slogan reflects UNC Pembroke
• Whether the design/slogan is eye catching, powerful and unique
• Whether the design/slogan is in keeping with the University's Code of
Conduct
• Compliance with Trademark Licensing regulations

Guidelines:

1. You may submit up to 2 designs within the deadline period.
2. By submitting a design for consideration, you confirm that to the best of your knowledge the design is your own original work. Any copyright infringement will cause disqualification and the UNCP Bookstore will not be held liable.
3. Any designs that does not win the first year may be resubmitted the following year.
4. The design will be screen printed on the back of a black cotton t-shirt.
5. You may use up to three ink colors visible on a black t-shirt.
6. All designs must be submitted electronically via email or on a CD-ROM. They do not have to be camera ready.
7. The contest is open to all current UNC Pembroke Students and Alumni.
8. The design competition will be an annual fall event.
9. All entries become the exclusive property of UNCP Bookstore. Secondary designs that do not win the competition may also be used in various printed materials at the Bookstore's discretion.
10. UNCP Bookstore reserves the right to modify and amend these guidelines at any time without notice.

Timeline:
Design Submission Deadline: September 10, 2010
Campus-wide Voting Begins: September 13, 2010
Campus-wide Voting Ends: September 17, 2010
Winning Design Announced: September 25, 2010
T-Shirts Available to Purchase: To Be Announced
