Programs

The department offers the following programs leading to the Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with indicated track, concentration, or licensure. Clicking on each will show you a current checksheet for completion of each degree.

  • Biology (with tracks in Botany, Zoology, Molecular Biology,                   or Environmental Biology possible

Academic Concentration in Biology

The Biology Department also houses the Science Education Programs.Degrees available include a B.S. degree in Biology Education and a B.S. in Science Education with a concentration in Biology, Chemistry, Geology, or Physics. A Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Science Ed. with a concentration in Biology, Chemistry, Geology, or Physics is available for teachers that currently hold a Standard Professional I License and wish to earn an Advanced License. An M.A. degree in Science Ed.non-licensure concentration is also available for students who do not wish to earn teacher licensure. For students that have a bachelor's degree in the natural sciences and wish to earn teacher licensure, the Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) degree with Science (9-12) specialization leads to both the Standard Professional I and Advanced Licenses.
