Undergraduate students from several disciplines presented research posters for the End-of-Summer Student Research & Creativity Presentation, sponsored by the Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement (RISE) Program. The presentation took place from 2:00-5:00 PM on Monday, 20 August 2012, on the first floor of the Oxendine Science Building.
In all 17 posters were in the line up, including posters given by Summer-Only RISE Students and RISE Fellows. Research topics were quite variable, featuring molecular and chemical topics, as well as ecological topics and international studies. Some of the work was conducted out of state. A complete list (PDF file) of poster titles and authors can by obtained by clicking HERE.
Goals of the RISE program are to prepare UNCP students for research in the biomedical sciences, and to enhance the environment for scientific research at UNCP.
The RISE program is funded by the National Institutes of Health. Students who are interested in joining the RISE program should contact Dr. Robert Poage (Program Director) or Prof. Sailaja Vallabha (Co-Program Director).
