Rise Students Present Research Posters (August 2011)
Science students who performed summer research, sponsored by the
Research Initiative for Scientific Enhancement (RISE) program, cheerfully presented their research posters in the Oxendine Science Building, on Friday, 19 August 2011.
While posters were on display from 2:00-4:00 PM, RISE students explained their research to inquiring visitors.
The thirteen posters on display featured a variety of topics, ranging from biodiesel, to lysomal modulators, to amphibian habitat.
Goals of the RISE program are to prepare UNCP students for research in the biomedical sciences, and to enhance the environment for scientific research at UNCP.
A PDF copy of the poster program, listing authors and poster titles, can be obtained by clicking HERE.
The RISE program is funded by the National Institutes of Health. Students who are interested in joining the RISE program should contact Dr. Robert Poage (Program Director) or Prof. Sailaja Vallabha (Co-Program Director).
