Purpose:  To provide guidance for discounting merchandise sold in bulk quantity.

Scope: This policy applies to all UNC Pembroke groups and departments.

Policy: Discounts are allowed on regular priced merchandise bought in bulk quantities. Textbooks, computer hardware and computer software are exempt from discounts. Provided a regular markup has been taken to establish the retail price, bulk discounts will be determined as follows:

$ 1.00 - $ 2.50	50	100
$ 2.51 - $ 5.00	25	50
$ 5.01 - $10.00	15	30
$10.01 - $20.00	10	20
$20.01 - $40.00	5	10
$40.01 - $60.00	3	6
$60.01 and above	Approval by Management	Approval by Management
