Thomas Volkman
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, I have lived in Robeson
County since 1989. Earlier that same year, I graduated from Eastern Kentucky
University receiving a BA in Art Education. I am entering my 21st year
of employment at Fairmont High School. In addition to my responsibilities
in the classroom, I have participated in the following:
o High School Department Chairperson
o School Improvement Team
o Student Support Management Team
o Teacher Mentoring Program
o School Disciplinary Committee
o Campus Beautification Committee
o Student Art Club
o Robeson County Secondary Visual Arts Chairperson
o Student Teaching Program
o Teacher of the Year(TOY)
o National Board Certification (NBPTS) process
In 2005, I earned an MA in Art Education from UNCP, and since then have
taught an Art Appreciation course on a part-time basis.
