Bachelor of Arts in Art
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Bachelor of Arts in Art is a studio-oriented program designed for
students seeking a liberal arts degree encompassing a variety of studio
experiences. To develop a well-rounded understanding of artistic media
students are required to complete introductory classes in a variety of
areas, including Ceramics, Digital Arts, Drawing, Painting, Printmaking
and Sculpture, as well as foundation courses. In advanced courses, students
concentrate on primary and secondary areas of their choice. To gain a
greater understanding of how their artistic production relates to that
of others and the past, students also study 15 hours of art history.
Before graduating, seniors are required to present an acceptable exhibition
of their work representing their primary area.
