The Center for Academic Excellence embodies UNCP’s commitment to your academic success. That means that, together, our programs, offices, and resources form a comprehensive academic support network that can assist you as you find your ideal path and pursue your degree. Whether guiding you through your academic transition, helping you clarify career goals, and explore majors, or providing tutoring that helps you meet the challenges of college study, the CAE is an important part of your experience at UNCP.
The First Year Program welcomes all new UNCP freshmen to the University and helps them make the transition to college. By providing academic advisement for students in their first year, enhancing their membership in the academic community through Freshman Seminar 100, the CAE helps students create a solid foundation for their future at UNCP.
The Peer Study Support Program helps students achieve their academic goals by offering individualized tutoring in General Education courses. Services are free to all UNCP students.
