The Pembroke Undergraduate Research and Creativity (PURC) Center of The University of North Carolina at Pembroke stimulates, supports and promotes inquiry, discovery and creativity in scholarship and the arts through mentored research experiences with faculty and other regional, national and international scholars and professionals.

The Center facilitates and coordinates preparation in research skills necessary for professional fields and graduate study. Annually, a PURC Symposium is held on the UNCP campus to highlight student research. Posters and presentations are judged by a group of faculty members with winners being named in each of four categories: Art Exhibit, Oral Presentation, Humanities and Business Poster, and Scienct Poster.

Funds help support:
Student travel to perform research.
Student travel to present scholarly results at conferences.
Student stipends for research and/or creative experiences.
