How does UNC Pembroke determine my transfer credits?
In 1997 The University of North Carolina established a common articulation agreement with the Community College System of North Carolina. The following courses are a part of that articulation agreement. While courses that do not appear on this list may transfer to UNC Pembroke, this agreement is the basic guideline used by the Office of Admissions in determining the transfer of credits and the awarding of specific course credit to transfer applicants. Courses that are part of the common articulation agreement and are not listed below will be awarded elective credit.
Transcipts from all community colleges, colleges and universities (whether in North Carolina or out-of-state) are reviewed on a course-by-course basis. Some community college coursework is not considered applicable to the pursuit of a bachelor's degree and is therefore not considered transferable. Generally speaking, all non-developmental, college-level coursework from a regionally accredited college or university taken in pursuit of a bachelor's degree is transferable with a grade of "C" or better. In cases where an equivalent course is not present in UNCP's curriculum but where transfer credit is merited elective credit is awarded.
