Biography
I was born on June 28, 1991 and have one older sister. I graduated from East Rowan High School in 2009. I am currently a senior at UNCP where I play on the football team and work as a supplemental instructor for an American National Government course.
Why did you choose to attend UNCP?
When deciding on a college to attend, I had to consider both athletics and academics because I knew I wanted to play football in college. Athletically, UNCP had a great football program established. Academically, UNCP was a perfect fit for me because it offered both of the majors that I wanted to pursue and was an affordable option for me since I hope to attend law school after I graduate. Also, UNCP was a comfortable two hours away from home which was close enough to drive home whenever I wanted; however, it was far enough for me to be independent from my parents.
What do you like best about UNCP?
My favorite thing about UNCP would be the small student to faculty ratio. It is very easy to connect with your professors more personally so that you can get the best education possible. It also allows you to network and gain important references for job and graduate school recommendations. Another great thing about UNCP is the extensive study abroad options offered here. Through UNCP, I was able to study abroad for a month in Madrid, Spain and for two weeks in Berlin, Germany. These were experiences that I will never forget and I can thank UNCP for giving me an affordable option to study abroad.
