Biography
Stan Knick received the Ph.D. in anthropology at Indiana University (1986); his dissertation examined health and growth of Lumbee Indian children. He has taught university courses in Native American health, archaeology, contemporary issues of Native Americans and cultural anthropology. His current interests include video ethnography, Native American health, archaeology in southeastern North Carolina, art and culture of Native Americans and global traditional cultures. He is a recipient of the Hamilton McMillan Award for service to the Lumbee Indian community, and is an honorary member of the Lumbee Tribe.
