| A: | UNC Pembroke serves all types of students. Historically, UNC Pembroke was founded as a school to serve Native Americans in 1887. We joined 15 other institutions in 1972 to form the consolidated University of North Carolina. We have a rich heritage, and we maintain a commitment to serve diverse student populations. |
