Transfer Admission Requirements

Under 21 Years of Age

  1. All students under the age of 21 by the time of enrollment are required to have passed the following high school classes**:
    • 4 units of English
    • 4 units of math (Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 and a math beyond Algebra II)
    • 3 units of science (biological science, physical science and a science with a lab)
    • 2 units of social studies (1 unit must be U.S. History)
    • 2 units of the same foreign language

    **Students who did not take/pass all of these high school classes are required to complete 24 transferable semester hours from a regionally accredited institution with an overall GPA of 2.0.

  2. Students are required to meet freshman high school GPA and SAT/ACT requirements for admission (please contact the Office of Admissions for appropriate GPA and SAT/ACT requirements). If a student is only deficient in one area (either GPA or SAT/ACT), they may complete 12 transferable semester hours of general education from a regionally accredited institution with an overall GPA of 2.5. If a student is deficient in both areas (GPA and SAT/ACT) they must complete 24 transferable semester hours from a regionally accredited institution with an overall GPA of 2.0.
  3. Students must meet a minimum 2.0 cumulative college GPA for all college courses as calculated by the UNC Pembroke Undergraduate Admissions Office.
  4. Students must be in good standing and eligible to return to the last school attended.

    NOTE: Some academic programs at UNC Pembroke may have admissions requirements that exceed those listed above.

  2. Students must be in good standing and eligible to return to the last school attended.
