2017 Summer Family Orientation

Welcome and congratulations on your student’s decision to attend the University of North Carolina at Pembroke! We look forward to welcoming you and your family to campus for Family Orientation. As a parent or family member, you play an important role in the success and transition of your student. Orientation for family members is not required but it is strongly encouraged.

Step 1

Yes, you must register. During your student’s online registration for New Student Orientation, they will be given the opportunity to register family members or guest to attend Family Orientation. There is a non-refundable fee of $40 required for each family member or guest attending orientation. There is no fee for children under the age of 12 (no meals or materials provided).  

Since students will be responsible for registering family members or guest, it is important to communicate in advance about the orientation date preference. Please make sure your student has your preferred email address, this information is needed in order to register you for Family Orientation.If you have any questions, please contact New Student Programs via email at

After the initial reservation has been submitted, if you would like to add another person to the reservation, you must submit your request by emailing

Payment can be made through the following:

  • Credit card (MasterCard and Visa Accepted), Contact the Bursar’s Office at 910.521.6855.
  • Check or money order, made payable to UNC Pembroke, mail to:
    • A $25 fee will be charged for returned checks.

A detailed schedule will be available at orientation check-in with specific times and locations for parent and family events. Throughout orientation, parents and family members will have the opportunity to interact with faculty, staff, students and other parents and family members. Highlighted sessions include, student engagement, supporting your college student and money matters.
