Welcome to Distance Education at UNCP!
Welcome to the Office of Distance Education at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. As a functional arm of Academic Affairs’ Engaged Outreach, the Office of Distance Education works with academic departments to offer flexible, student-centered schedules and resources to off-campus and online students interested in pursuing a UNC Pembroke undergraduate or graduate degree. Guided by UNC Pembroke’s commitment to prepare students for success in an “ever-changing and increasingly technological global environment,” the Office of Distance Education helps extend to distance learners access to the same high quality degree programs in which on-campus students are enrolled.
Dislocation is, perhaps, the most confounding challenge faced by non-traditional students who, in addition to the demands of school, must juggle work and family responsibilities. Our distance education staff members are trained to help bridge the gap that alienates our online and off-campus students. The Office of Distance Education has full-time Campus Administrative Coordinators who are housed at several off-campus locations, where they provide a host of hands-on services to support our off-campus and online learners. Students may elect to take classes, face-to-face, from UNC Pembroke professors at our off-campus sites, and they also have the option to partially or fully complete their degree requirements totally online.
If you have been deferring your dream of earning a college degree because of work, family or locational challenges, we are poised to help you transgress these boundaries. Call our campus office or one of our site offices today to begin building a bridge to your future.
