Child Welfare Education Collaborative

The University of North Carolina at Pembroke's Child Welfare Education Collaborative (CWEC) offers a scholar program that allows students to complete the state mandated pre-service CWEC Logotraining required by all North Carolina Department of Social Service agencies. This allows students to begin work immediately upon graduation once selected by a Department of Social Service agency. Financial assistance is also a component of this program. Scholar participants are required to complete one year of work in Child Welfare at a Department of Social Service agency in North Carolina for each year that they receive the scholar award.

UNC Pembroke's CWEC seeks individuals that are committed to the Social Work profession with a career in Child Welfare.

The North Carolina Child Welfare Collaborative is an inventive and exciting program being offered to the students at UNCP majoring in Social Work with a concentration in Public Child Welfare.
