PUBLIC NOTICE OF UPCOMING CCNE ACCREDITATION REVIEW

The University of North Carolina at Pembroke Department of Nursing will be hosting a Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accreditation site visit November 10-12, 2014.  This visit is part of the process for seeking continuing nursing professional accreditation through CCNE for the Baccalaureate Nursing Program and initial nursing professional accreditation for the Master’s Nursing Program.

The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education is an autonomous accrediting agency, which ensures the quality and integrity of professional nursing programs.  As a voluntary, self-regulatory process, CCNE accreditation supports and encourages continuing self-assessment by nursing programs and supports continuing growth and improvement of collegiate professional nursing education.

Prior to the accreditation visit, schools of nursing are required to provide an opportunity for communities of interest (e.g., students, alumni, faculty, employers, etc.) to provide third party comments about our program, students, and graduates directly to CCNE. Written and signed third-party comments related to the program’s compliance with the accreditation standards will be accepted by CCNE until October 11, 2014.  CCNE will share comments with members of the on-site evaluation team prior to the November visit, but at no time during the review process will these comments be shared with the nursing program.

Any specific signed third-party comments relating to the accreditation process should be directed to the CCNE home office at the address listed below:
