This website has a complete list of the active REU (Research Experiences for Undergraduates) sites from the NSF.  This site is also organized by disciplines. They are currently 72 REU sites listed under Chemistry and 136 under Biological SciencesStudents must contact the individual site or program to apply. NSF does not have application materials and does not select student participants. These research experiences are always paid.

 

AMGEN scholarsThe Amgen Scholars U.S. Program provides hundreds of selected undergraduate students with the opportunity to engage in a hands-on research experience at some of the nation’s leading educational institutions. Currently, 9 institutions in the U.S. (Columbia, Harvard, MIT, NIH, Stanford, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCSF, Washington University in St. Louis) host the summer research program. The European institutions' summer programs are only for european students.

 

Summer Undergraduate Research Programs. This website hosted by AAMC has a list of summer research programs in biomedical sciences at top leading medical schools in the country. However, research is often conducted in basic science departments, not always in clinical labs, so check them out individually.

Native American Summer Research Internship (NASRI) The Native American Research Internship is a dynamic summer research opportunity for Native American undergraduate junior and senior students who are interested in Health Science research. The internship is located at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is a 10-week, paid summer internship, funded by the National Institutes of Health.
