Teach Like a Pirate

The purpose of the Partnership for the Partnership for the Retention of Education Professionals (PREP) is to bolster collaborative efforts in beginning teacher support. The project involves a partnership with five (5) area school districts:

  • Anson County Schools

  • Cumberland County Schools

  • Montgomery County Schools

  • Richmond County Schools

  • Scotland County Schools

This grant, supported by the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation, supports several strands of work: (a) district leadership development that focuses on best practices in mentoring and program accountability; (b) support in mentor training and development; and (c) direct support to beginning teachers. A key strand of this grant is the LEA Specialist, a part-time position that partnering districts can utilize throughout the year to carry out special projects.
