Welcome to Birth-Kindergarten Education...

Recent research has led to an ever-growing awareness of the importance of the early years in human development. At the national and state levels, there is an increasing emphasis on the need for quality, inclusive programs to serve infants, toddlers and preschoolers.

Our program is designed to prepare educators to work with children with and without disabilities. The program is inclusive, interdisciplinary, and leads to one of the newest teacher licensure areas authorized in North Carolina. I would like to invite you to contact me if you have further questions or would be interested in additional information. I look forward to hearing from you.

UNCP's Teacher Education Program is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).  Each undergraduate and graduate teacher education program area offered by UNCP is approved by the NC State Board of Education.
