    Piedmont Natural Gas has restored service to campus this evening. As a result of the work performed today there will be detours on Faculty Row for both vehicles and pedestrians. Please use extreme caution and do not attempt to go around the barricades.

    Facilities and Piedmont Natural Gas personnel will continue working with the natural gas infrastructure on campus throughout the week. Service disruption is not anticipated, but could be possible. This work is being performed to make every effort to maintain a safe and healthy campus environment. 

    Dining services will resume standard operations for Sunday, January 22. We appreciate your patience today and apologize for any inconvenience.

Dr. Ashraf is a professor of economics in the Department of Economics, Finance, and Decision Sciences. He earned his BS (1994), MA (1996), and Ph.D. (1998) degrees from Northern Illinois University. Along with teaching graduate and undergraduate economics and statistics courses, he has been involved in scholarly research. He was the recipient of the 2003-2004 UNCP Dial Scholarship Award and the 2005 Peter B. Vaill Faculty Award. Dr. Ashraf’s research interests include growth models, economic development, labor economics, and economic pedagogy. His research articles have been published in numerous scholarly journals including Contemporary Economics Policy, Journal of Economics, Annals of Economics and Finance, Applied Economics Letters, and Journal of Education for Business. He has presented papers at academic conferences in the United States, Canada, Russia, and Europe.
