Graduate Council

The Graduate Council is the University-wide body responsible for approving all policy and curriculum matters affecting graduate programs.

2015-16 Meetings

Held on the third Monday of the month at 3 pm in UC Annex 203 during the academic year, Graduate Council Meetings for 2015-16 are September 21, October 19, November 16, January 25 (2016), February 15, March 21 and April 18.

Curriculum/Program Proposals

To propose a new/altered course (Course Proposal form) or new/altered program (Program Proposal form), you will need to go to the Curriculum Forms homepage (Academic Affairs website). Read the directions and select the appropriate form.

NOTE: Completed forms, with all signatures up to the Dean of Graduate Studies (registrar, provost, etc.), must be submitted to the Office of Graduate Studies the Friday before one week prior to the Graduate Council meeting in which the proposal is to be considered.

Graduate Faculty Nomination

Instructors of graduate courses must be approved by the Graduate Council and requires renewal on a regular basis.  Nominations should come from a graduate program director using this form: Graduate Faculty Nomination/Renewal Form
