Congratulation on your acceptance to The University of North Carolina at Pembroke. Your first step towards becoming part of #BRAVENATION begins this summer with Transfer Student Orientation. UNC Pembroke is offering five (5) New Student Orientation sessions for transfer students this summer. These sessions are designed to further introduce you to UNC Pembroke and the services available.

Getting Started

Please note - all reservations are made under the student's name and student ID Banner number. Web reservations are the most expedient way to make your reservation. Do not use a cell phone or tablet. Online reservations are processed immediately and you will receive an email confirmation at the time you make the reservation. Your required nonrefundable $75 New Student Orientation fee can be paid once you register for your orientation session by using your MasterCard or VISA. Once this fee is paid you have declared your intent to attend UNC Pembroke. If you are unable to pay the required non-refundable $75 New Student Orientation fee at the time of your reservation, there is an option to defer your payment to your fall tuition bill on the payment page for orientation.

Our orientation sessions fill up quickly so act register fast. Please sign-up as soon as possible so that you can get the session you prefer. The orientation sessions are listed below:

August 13, 2018 is designated for out-of-state students only. 

These sessions are designed to acquaint you further with UNCP and the services that are available to you. You will also receive academic advising with regard to your fall (and summer) courses and will register for classes at the end of the day.

 STEP 1: Register Online

  1. Set-up your BraveWeb account. For information on how to set up your BraveWeb Account, please visit  
  2. Once you have your BraveWeb account open please click on the Orientation Registration tab and log into the account using your BraveWeb username and password. (UNC Pembroke - Shibboleth Login) You will be directed to the Visual Zen Orientation Registration System.
  3. Follow the instructions to select your orientation date and make your online payment for any family members that will be attending with you. Please make sure you consult with your family members when selecting a date. If a session is full, you will not be able to select it.
  4. Please ensure you submit your registration.

Reservations for family members require a $40 non-refundable payment for each person. All registrations must be made by the student in their orientation registration portal. We are able to accept MasterCard or Visa at the time you make your reservation. After the initial reservation has been submitted, if you would like to add another guest to the reservation, you must submit your request by emailing

If you have completed additional course work since your acceptance to UNCP, it is imperative that you have your most recent transcript sent to the UNCP Office of Admissions. It is necessary that you have this process completed before you arrive to ensure proper advisement and registration. If you have questions regarding your transcript evaluation before Orientation, please contact the Office of Admissions at 910.521.6262.

Please Submit online your immunizations and health form prior to Orientation. All these documents must be completed online at our Student Health Patient Portal. The link is below

North Carolina Law requires all students enrolling in five or more semester hours to submit a copy of their immunization records to their respective institutions.

Step 3:

Be Advised: Registered students taking six (6) or more credit hours are required to purchase the Student Health Insurance Plan. Waiver deadlines vary each semester. If you do not complete the waiver procedure, you will be enrolled in the student insurance and be required to pay the premium associated with the insurance policy.


  • Distance education students (students taking off campus and Internet only courses)
  • Students who submit evidence of equivalent coverage satisfactory to the policyholder

STEP 3: Complete FAFSA

To seek federal financial aid or UNC Pembroke scholarships, please submit your online Free Application for Federal Aid (FAFSA) at, and visit the Financial Aid website at regarding scholarships. UNC Pembroke’s Federal school code is 002954. All students should complete the FAFSA prior to completing the online orientation modules. STEP 4: Complete Housing Agreement Application (if applicable)

Transfer students at UNCP during the summer semester with fewer than 12 hours of credit, who will not be 21 years of age prior to August 1st of the initial enrollment year and who is registered for a course load of 9 credit hours or more are required to reside on campus for their initial academic year. Depending on certain criteria, this requirement may be waived. For infomration concerning the waiver requirements and to obtain a copy of the waiver form, go to www.uncp/housing/forms.

In-State Residency:

Effective February 20, 2017, any new student, who desires consideration for in-state residency for tuition purposes, will need to complete the state-required Residency Determination Service electronic interview. The centralized residency determination service can be accessed at Upon completion, students will receive a Residency Certification Number (RCN). This unique identifier will allow all UNC System campuses to access your residency status. For questions about residency, please visit the Residency Determination Service at or call at 844.319.3640. Student Rights and Responsibilities Overview (Student Code of Conduct):

All students are expected to conduct themselves in a responsible and accountable manner at all times. The Student Code of Conduct outline prohibited conduct and assist student in understanding their rights and responsibilities while living and learning in the University community. The Student Code of Conduct can be located online at Please review the Student Code of Conduct prior to attending your orientation session, as you will be held accountable for any violations.

Students with Disabilities:

Students who have a disability and are requesting accommodations while attending New Student Orientation should contact the Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) at 910.521.6695. Notification of required accommodation should be submitted one week prior to the session date. However, a good faith effort will be made with notification less than one week to the session date.

Parking during Orientation:

Parking on the day of orientation is free. Please park in student and open parking only. Please do not park in faculty/staff parking lots. Faculty/staff parking lots are monitored during orientation sessions and parking in one may result in a citation.

UNCP Email Account:

Every UNC Pembroke student is assigned a BraveMail email account. All official communication (including billing and financial aid) is sent to the student’s BraveMail account. It is important that you check this account regularly for important information. To access your email go to and click on the MENU tab. The BRAVEMAIL (STUDENT) link will take you the login page for your email account. Use your BraveWeb username and password to log into BraveMail.
