At the heart of the effectiveness of an institution is student success. UNCP’s Office of Institutional Effectiveness strives to ensure student success through collecting data regarding students, faculty, and staff as well as institutional programs, services and operations. Reports generated from this data are used internally to support institutional decision making and are also transmitted to the University of North Carolina’s Office of the President and to other external agencies.
The Office of Institutional Effectiveness also has responsibilities in the areas of institutional research, assessment and planning. The office serves as a resource for statistical analysis and research design related to the University’s students, faculty, staff, programs, services and operations as well as for survey and questionnaire research. IE coordinates university-wide assessment efforts and works in conjunction with the Strategic Planning and Resources Council to develop University goals and objectives and to assess institutional success in meeting them.
The primary goal of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness at UNCP is to aid in the accountability of The University of North Carolina at Pembroke to its constituents, both internal and external. This is accomplished through the collection, analysis, and reporting of data and information in order to measure the progress of the university in carrying out assigned functions and to provide the basis for informed decision-making and planning.
