The A.D. Gallery is pleased to present the work of Rick Bartow, a Native American artist of Wiyot heritage. Bartow draws deeply on global transformation myths and art history to create his uniquely hybrid artwork. Populating his non-linear narratives is an array of personal symbols representing the natural and internal worlds such as hawks, ravens, coyotes, bears, eagles, and self-portraits. This exhibition offers work spanning the past 20 years of his prolific career and includes painting, drawing, prints, and sculpture.
Bartow's work is held in many national collections including the Microsoft Corporation, Portland Art Museum, Hallie Ford Museum of Art, the
University of Oregon Museum of Art, and The Smithsonian / National Museum of the American Indian.
